AWS Interconnect Expands Multicloud Connectivity With OCI Preview

AWS has announced a public preview of AWS Interconnect - multicloud connectivity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The service is designed to simplify private links between cloud environments without requiring teams to assemble and operate a bespoke global networking layer.
A Practical Multicloud Building Block
Cloud estates increasingly span providers for interoperability, resilience and workload fit. That flexibility can create networking complexity, especially when applications depend on private and predictable connectivity between environments.
AWS says the OCI preview builds on the same open specification used for its multicloud connectivity offering. Google Cloud is generally available, and Microsoft Azure support is planned for later in 2026.
What Hosting Teams Should Review
The announcement is relevant to teams planning multicloud hosting patterns or reducing operational overhead in existing cross-cloud deployments.
- Map traffic that currently crosses cloud-provider boundaries
- Review latency, bandwidth and resiliency requirements
- Separate public-internet paths from workloads that need private links
- Evaluate preview availability before planning production adoption
